In real life, the vehicle comprised a 12 ton 6 x 4 axle M20 Diamond T model T980 ballast tractor and companion trailer. The vehicle originated in the USA, built by the Diamond T Company in Chicago who produced over 6500 between 1941-1945. Designed as a heavy prime mover for tank transporting, several thousand were purchased by the British Army in particular. The heavyweight Diamond T980 was ideally suited to operating on rugged terrain and proved particularly invaluable in recovering battle-damaged tanks. It remained in military service right into the 1950s with a few still being used through to 1971.
Here we see it as deployed by its home nation with the US Army. It appears in the drab dark green with black radiator slots and black interior. The US white star appears on the sides of the cab doors, the back of the trailer and also on the bonnet, whilst its military numbering is printed in blue along the edges of the bonnet and on the back of the trailer. Additional alphanumeric identification including the registration plate features in white - ASCZ 3595 and TRK 27 – on the front bumper with the white star displayed between.

United Kingdom Delivery
We endeavour to process all orders same working day. Orders between £0.00 and £149.99 will be charged from £3.95 for Standard Delivery (2-5 working days) with Royal Mail. Standard Delivery for orders £150.00 or more will be delivered free of charge by Royal Mail.
Orders can be upgraded to Royal Mail 1st Class (1-2 working days) for just £5.99, or to Next Working Day Delivery with DPD Local for £11.95.
Next working day delivery is only available for UK Mainland. Islands, Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands will need to select a Royal Mail Service as we are unable to offer a next day service to these areas.
Aerosols and certain glues can only be shipped by courier and so will attract an extra charge, each item will be highlighted, and courier postage charged as standard.
Orders placed between Friday at 1pm and Sunday evening will be dispatched the following Monday. We are closed on Wednesday so orders placed after 2pm Tuesday will be dispatched on Thursday. All goods are subject to availability and all delivery dates are approximate. Please take into consideration when ordering from us that we reserve the right to charge for any re-delivery attempt and return to sender charges.
Worldwide Delivery
We endeavour to process all orders same working day. All orders will be charged a minimum rate of £24.95, delivered by Royal Mail Air Mail as standard. Large orders will be dispatched by courier, where extra postage is due, we will contact you and advise. Insurance is not included but is required on high value items.
